After the dinner Two paintings by Reg Payne were auctioned off, the proceeds to be given to the Bomber Command Memorial. Sir Michael, President of the Bomber Command Association, presented them to the successful bidders.
Bought by Stephen Freeth, the son of the 61 squadron veteran Reg Freeth. Jane
Bought by Philip and Robert Flowers as a Fathers Day present for 50 squadron veteran H.James Flowers

Wilber told me that he was shot down whilst his aircraft was attacking a battleship in a Norway Fiord and that he spent the rest of the war as a POW.
